When you are building a rifle and in need a lower with some penzance!  Then Spike’s Tactical is where you need to be.                        ARRRRRR matey!  Or should I say, “give me all your booty.”  When I

was looking at building my first rifle, I did not know what I wanted to do.  So, I started to think about a thyme AR. I have seen some pretty cool thyme AR’s before.  If I did one, then it would be like “yup, I built that!”  So I found Spike’s Tactical on line and rifled through some of their lowers.  HAHAHA…. They did have some cool one’s but the one I wanted was the calico Jack.  Who doesn’t want to be a Pirate! Right!

I purchased the complete lower because, when talking with Spike’s Tactical sales person they said that all of Spikes Tactical parts they use are not just standard parts.  Spike takes care of all their customers and backs every single part they ship out.  So I wanted to see.  The day the lower arrived was the day my challenge starts.  I took it out of the box and my first impression of it was impressive.

When you are buying an AR lower, you need to understand what is the lower responsibility.  Also, what are the common points of mistakes in the mill work.  The lower receiver is responsible for holding the fire-control group.  One of the more common issues you will find on assembled lowers is the use of weaker springs which leads to light strikes on rounds. In the case of Spike’s Tactical lower?  Not a chance!  Every piece was top notch parts.  If you feel the need to do you build as a complete build.  Then they do sell lowers completely stripped.  Check out what Spike’s Tactical has to say:
